The layout contained Chanterelle-saffron sweet potato soup, Claremont salad, Venison/Black trumpet BBQ...
Chicken Grifola Stew, Chicken Marsala, Potato pancakes, Chanterelle Chowder, even Vichyssoise to name a few.
Of course there was Linda's Sulfurshelf snack, Black Trumpet dip, and "desert mushrooms" (yea you got'a come to the foray). Others brought brownies, chocolate chip cookies, "mushroom" cupcakes and other sweets.
Good eats, friends and the sun even came out to play.
On the otherhand, the early wet weather did nothing to dampen the variety of species found and identified.
Plenty of edibles...
plenty of interesting specimens and ...
basketfuls were collected.
Is that a raw mushroom!??
Must be one of these specimens...
guess they were edible.
Linda, Pam and Richard worked on the identifications.
Here are some interesting specimens.
Waiting to be sorted and id'ed.
And more.
Pam gives everyone a rundown on the days finds.
Put you hands on it, smell it, see it close, that's is how you learn mushroom identification.
Combine that with being shown the key points of identification, how can you not learn.
Everyone seems to be enjoying her talk.
And there is still plenty of food.
There were a lot of edibles to go over.
Peek-a-boo!
As usual Roger brought his fine wine creations.
There was a lot of participation when it came to questions and discussion of the finds...
